Chef de la Maison: Pioneering Sustainable Catering Solutions in Peterborough

At Chef de la Maison, we believe that supporting local farms and communities is not just a trend, but a responsibility. As a leading catering company, we are on a mission to provide a complete cycle of local catering supplies, from sourcing ingredients from local farms to managing surplus food and supporting charities that feed communities.

We understand the importance of sustainable and ethical practices in the food industry, and that is why we have made it our priority to work closely with local farmers and growers. By sourcing our ingredients from nearby farms, we not only support our local economy, but also ensure that our food is fresh, high-quality, and full of flavor.

Our partnership with local farmers goes beyond just purchasing their produce. We are dedicated to building long-term relationships with them, understanding their farming practices and values, and working together to create a more sustainable food system. By supporting our farmers, we are also supporting the land and the environment that sustains us.

But our commitment to supporting local communities does not end with sourcing ingredients. We also take responsibility for managing surplus food in a sustainable and ethical manner. At Chef de la Maison, we have strict policies in place to minimize food waste and ensure that any excess food is donated to local charities and organizations that feed those in need. We believe that no food should go to waste, especially when there are people in our community who are struggling to put food on their table.

In addition to supporting local farms and communities through our catering services, we have also taken steps to be environmentally responsible. At our premises, we have set up worm farms to manage our organic waste. This allows us to create nutrient-rich soil that can be used by our partner farms, closing the loop and reducing our carbon footprint. We are committed to respecting our farmers and the land they work on, and this is just one way we can give back to them.

We are proud to say that our dedication to supporting local farms and communities has not gone unnoticed. Our clients appreciate our commitment to sustainability and ethics, and it has become a key factor in their decision to work with us. We believe that by choosing Chef de la Maison, they are not only getting delicious food, but also supporting a larger cause of building a more sustainable and ethical food system.

In conclusion, at Chef de la Maison, we are more than just a catering company. We are a team of individuals who are passionate about supporting local farms and communities. We believe that by working together, we can create a more sustainable and ethical food industry that benefits everyone involved. We are committed to our mission and will continue to strive towards being a leading catering company that supports and uplifts our local communities.

Chef de la Maison is your trusted event partner. Eco innovations and mindful catering solutions to benefit local communities and the planet

Flourish Peterborough

In March 2024, Chef de la Maison partnered with Flourish Peterborough to help improve how we manage with surplus food from our catering events.

With great advice from Lauren Kendrick of Flourish Peterborough, we have established a network of local charities that can accept fresh food donations from the surplus foods from our catering events.

Chef de la Maison compliantly manage the surplus food with temperature control and risk assessment quality control. The Group is managed by Flourish Peterborough to help ensure Chef de la Maison comply and support this initiative in the most streamlined and effective way possible to add positivity to the charity groups involved.

This is a great way to make a positive impact in local communities and a feel good factor that promotes a feel good factor. Well-being can be under estimated, and this project certainly helps our team and communities share the positivity from surplus food management.

We are committed to grow our eco innovations and community projects and look forward to sharing more updates as we continue our journey.

3 Daughters Farm

At chef de la Maison we are deeply passionate about sustainability. Recently in 2024 we decided to get real about things and committed to a new mission. Part of our eco friendly mission is supporting local farms.

Our signature BBQ beef burgers are made by using the Hereford cattle breed in the farm in Uffington Stamford. Grass and local grain fed, our burgers are made with ground beef, salt pepper and pea husk.

It’s simply delicious and another key ingredient to our eco friendly quest.
